Emil (Adolf) von Behring - Biography, Partial list of publications, References and further reading

Bacteriologist and pioneer in immunology, born in Hansdorf, W Poland (formerly Prussia). He was professor of hygiene at Halle (1894–5) and Marburg (from 1895), and discovered antitoxins for diphtheria and tetanus. He was awarded the first Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (1901).
