Elysium - Elysium in post-classical literature, Elysium in Christianity


In Greek and Roman mythology, the happy fields, often located on the borders of the Underworld, where the good remain after death in perfect happiness. It is sometimes confused with the pre-Greek Islands of the Blessed, where heroes are said to live immortally.
