died england restored palatinate

Queen of Bohemia, the eldest daughter of James I (of England) and Anne of Denmark. She married Frederick V, Elector Palatine, in 1613. Driven from Prague and deprived of the Palatinate by Maximilian of Bavaria, the couple lived in exile in The Hague with their numerous children, continually beset by financial difficulties. Frederick died in 1632, but Elizabeth outlived him by 30 years. Her son, Charles Louis, was restored to the Palatinate in 1648, but his mother remained in Holland. She died in London in 1662 while on a visit to her nephew, the newly-restored Charles II of England.
