shochu - Shochu Drinks, Shigechiyo Izumi

Japanese alcoholic spirits, distilled from potatoes, colourless, but with a certain odour. It is cheaper than saké, and traditionally a rough drink for labourers and poor people. It was popularized in the 1980s.
