Shelagh Delaney

Playwright, born in Salford, Greater Manchester, NW England, UK. She left school at 16 and began writing her first and best known play, A Taste of Honey (1958) a year later. Later works failed to achieve equal acclaim, though she produced notable screenplays for Charlie Bubbles (1968) and Dance with a Stranger (1985).
