A clue to Nazareth lies in its original meaning, " a shoot. it was probably so small at jesus,s time it evoked the comment by Nathaniel that " can anything good come out of Nazareth. so insignificant at the time that even Josephus didntlist it.
Just the way God plays his moves I say.
It was possibly less then a tiny huddle of dwellings then and only later did it expand. This is conjecture on my part but could explain its historical listing .
