Leon (Marcus) Uris - Life, Trivia, Selected titles

Writer, born in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. He studied at local public schools, delivered newspapers by truck for the San Francisco Call-Bulletin, and served in the Marine Corps (1942–5). Eventually settling in Aspen, CO, he wrote popular best-sellers such as Exodus (1957) and Mila 18 (1961), and also many screenplays including Gunfight at the O.K. Corral (1957). Among his later novels were QB VII (1970), Trinity (1976), The Haj (1984), Mitla Pass (1989), and A God in Ruins (1999). O'Hara's Choice (2003) was published posthumously.
