Tennis player, born in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. He turned professional in 1986, won the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour World Championships in 1990, and went on to win Wimbledon (1992), the US Open (1994, 1999), the Australian Open (1995, 2000, 2001, 2003), the French Open (1999), and other titles, leading the world rankings for much of 1995. At the beginning of 2006 he had a world ranking of number 7, and retired later that year after competing in the US Open. He is also known for his work in relation to youth community projects, notably the Andre Agassi Foundation (1994). He was married (1997–9) to actress Brooke Shields, and married tennis player Steffi Graf in 2001.
